In today’s digital age, where athletes frequently engage with fans through social media, MS Dhoni stands apart. The former Indian cricket captain has consistently prioritized on-field performance over online presence. Reflecting on his career, Dhoni remarked, “If I play good cricket, I don’t need PR.”

Dhoni’s perspective challenges the prevailing trend of athletes leveraging social media for personal branding. He believes that dedication to the sport naturally garners recognition, eliminating the need for self-promotion. “I have never been a big fan of social media,” Dhoni stated, emphasizing his commitment to cricket over digital engagement.

Maintaining peak fitness remains a priority for Dhoni, especially as he prepares for his 18th season in the Indian Premier League. He acknowledges the increased effort required with age, focusing on diet, specific training, and engaging in various sports like tennis, badminton, and football to stay fit.

Since retiring from international cricket in August 2020, Dhoni has embraced personal time, engaging in activities close to his heart, such as motorcycle rides and spending time with family. He expresses no regret about stepping away from international play, stating, “I don’t miss international cricket because… I am very happy with God’s grace whatever I was able to do for my country.”

Dhoni’s journey underscores the value of authenticity and dedication in sports. By concentrating on his game and personal well-being, he has achieved remarkable success, inspiring athletes worldwide to prioritize excellence over external validation.
