In a historic performance, Taskin Ahmed achieved a record-breaking seven-wicket haul, leading Durbar Rajshahi to a commanding victory over Dhaka Capitals in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Taskin’s exceptional bowling figures of 7 for 19 set a new benchmark in BPL history, surpassing the previous record held by Mohammad Amir, who took 6 for 17 for Khulna Tigers in 2020.

This achievement places Taskin among an elite group of bowlers worldwide who have taken seven wickets in a T20 match, joining the ranks of Colin Ackermann and Syazrul Idrus.

After Dhaka Capitals elected to bat at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Taskin’s early breakthroughs dismantled their top order.

He dismissed openers Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan in his initial overs, setting the tone for Rajshahi’s dominance.

Taskin’s relentless pace and strategic variations continued to trouble the Dhaka batsmen, leading to their eventual collapse.

Reflecting on his performance, Taskin expressed his elation: “You need luck to get five. I am really happy [to take seven]. It’s a big deal for me. I am from Bangladesh so I will remember holding this BPL record.”

This record-breaking feat not only highlights Taskin’s individual brilliance but also underscores his pivotal role in Durbar Rajshahi’s BPL campaign.

As the tournament progresses, fans eagerly anticipate more stellar performances from this exceptional bowler.
